On Saturday, April 15, 2023 DCPA and the Fort Worth Ave. Development Group held a hands-on headstone repair workshop with one of Texas’s foremost authorities on Historic Gravestone and Monument Preservation – Mike Rowlands. Mike demonstrated how to safely clean, reset, and perform repairs on historic headstones. The process of putting back together a broken-in-half headstone was demonstrated in great detail. Mike generously taught members & guests how to safely clean tombstones with the right tools in order to restore “brand new” appearance.
