February 20        McKinney Family Cemetery at 11:00 AM

10425 Rylie Crest Dr., Dallas-

The purpose is to clean the cemetery to the degree allowed by the number of people who arrive between 11:00 and 11:30.  An additional benefit is for members to see the cemetery, and visit with other history lovers.  A portion of the cemetery, that is enclosed by the fence, is sometimes mowed.  A 1977 survey of tombstones by Blanche Impey and Jeanne Tabbis was published in the DGS Quarterly, September 1986, Vol. 32, No. 3.  The burials range from 1903 to 1976.  At the last visit, tombstones were visible.

Located on the north side of Rylie Crest Dr. at Cade Parkway, north of 10500 US Hwy 175.  Not shown on Mapsco as a cemetery.  There is a deed from a McKinney setting aside the land for this cemetery.  Part of the cemetery is within a short chain-link fence.

March 20             Wesley Cockrell Cemetery at 11:00 AM

800 S. Dwight Ave., Dallas-

The purpose is to check on possible encroachment by adjoining lot owners (possible driveway and fence construction), and to clean the cemetery to the degree allowed by the number of people who arrive between 11:00 and 11:30.  As mentioned before, an additional benefit is to for members to see the cemetery, and visit with other history lovers.  At our visit one year ago, tombstones were visible, and there was a granite marker placed by Dallas County Pioneer Association.  Those buried there include Wesley Cockrell, his wife Sally and their daugher Susan.

Located at the end of S. Dwight Ave. off W. Jefferson Blvd.  Not shown on Mapsco as a cemetery.  Deed not found, but is shown on the tax roll as a cemetery.
