Charles Tasco Groves and Analaura Nevada Johnson Groves

Charles was born 9 September 1844 in Charleston, Virginia (now West Virginia) to Perry A. Groves and Mildred Sharrocks Groves. He married 28 October 1875, Analaura N. Johnson, in Dallas County, Texas. Analaura was born 11 September 1859 in Lancaster, Dallas County, Texas to H.F.C. Johnson and Delilah Hall Burks Johnson. She died 16 August 1926, Garrett, Ellis County, Texas. They were the parents of eleven children, all born in Texas.

Burnett. 4) Charles Edwin married (1) Ollie Hale and married (2) Vida Felty. 5) Blanche Frank married Freman Gibbons. 6) Claude Tasco never married. 7) Daisy Mae never married. 8) Ann Irene married Hester Venable. 9) Bertha lone married John W. Simms. 10) Helen E. married Leo Kirkpatrick. 11) Marguerite married Lewis A. Baker.

Charles came to Dallas in the 1870’s. He is listed as a teacher at Deep Branch in The History of Lancaster. Educated as a minister, he was ordained in 1875 by the Christian Church at Christian Hills. He was an agent for the railroad and is listed in the Dallas City Directory of 1880. He lived there until he moved to Ellis County, Texas, where he died 30 October 1939 at Garrett and is buried in Ellis County.
