Betsy Farris was our leader, pointing out the history of each cemetery and notable monuments of people who were buried there.
The 9/16/23 tour began at Kit Cemetery, 1413 E. Irving Blvd, Irving, Texas 75060. Kit cemetery is in the southeast corner of Oak Grove cemetery, has a separate entrance and is separated by a North/South wall from Oak Grove.
The next stop was Sowers Cemetery 3101 W. Pioneer Dr, Irving, Texas 75061.
Next stop was Shady Oak Cemetery at 800 Compton Ave. From Sowers cemetery.
The last stop was Tompkins Cemetery which is between Hwy 183/Airport Fry and the service road on the south side of 183. It is in the southwest quadrant of Hwy 183 and Valley View Lane.
