Frances James, “The Cemetery Lady”

Frances James (1922 – 2019) was legendary in Dallas County, well known for her devotion to the history of our cemeteries. For decades, she actively worked to research, document and preserve the history of county cemeteries. She also was active in supporting the preservation of historic structures and locations and tirelessly worked to document them as well. Frances served on the Dallas Landmark Commission, Dallas County Historic Commission and was actively involved in numerous historical and preservation groups. Frances passed away in August, 2019.
