Our friends at the Dallas Municipal Archives John Slate, Kristi Nedderman, and Librarian Juli Gonzalez are hosting this historical symposium at the Dallas Public Library’s Audelia Road branch
They’re calling this new event Audelia Fest and will share information about the early history of the Lake Highlands area along with the pioneer families such as the Goforths, Bonners, McCrees, Jacksons, and Mosses who farmed the “high prairie” above the White Rock Valley. Also look for the screening of the 2022 documentary film “Rising” which tells the story of the 1936 Hall of Negro Life at that year’s Texas Centennial.
