McKinney Family Cemetery – 10425 Rylie Crest Dr., Dallas, Texas.  Cemetery on north side Rylie Crest Dr. at Cade Parkway.  North of 10500 US Hwy 175.  Not shown on Mapsco as a cemetery; is located in Mapsco 69C.  

The first mention found of the one square acre cemetery in Dallas County Official Records was a deed filed 1908 (E.P. Haynes and wife, Martha C., Monroe Gregory and wife Mary, C. L. Young and wife, C. B.,  J. R. McKinney & wife, Annie, to W.L. Leeds, Vol. 426 P. 245, July 7, 1908).  The most recent deed was filed in 1997 (Patsy Ruth Winslett, and Carroll Lewis Murphy to Ata Rahimi, Instrument No. 97252/00268, dated December 18, 1997).  In 2020 a short chain-link fence and tombstones were visible.  This cemetery was on the Dallas County Pioneer Association Spring 2018 Newsletter Endangered List.

The most informative obituary found was that of John R. McKinney (Dallas Morning News 1/26/1950):

             DEATH CLAIMS J. R. McKINNEY PRODUCEMAN

John R. McKinney, 80, retired, Dallas vegetable dealer, died Wednesday at his home, 4901 Lemmon Avenue.  McKinney started as a young man in Dallas with a horse-drawn wagon selling from house to house. Later he got a truck.  He retired about twenty-five years ago.

Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., he came to Texas with his parents in 1880.  They settled in the Rylie community near Dallas, where McKinney finished school.

In 1896 he married Miss Annie Hart in Dallas.  They have been living at the Lemmon Avenue home for the last thirty-nine years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thrusday at the McCullough Funeral Home chapel in Mesquite.  The Rev. D. L. Wadley will officiate.  Burial will be in the Rylie Cemetery.

Besides his wife, survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Maybelle Blumn, and Mrs. Cornelia Hart; three sons, W. R. McKinney, A. L. McKinney and J. H. McKinney; one sister, Mrs. Cleora Belle Young; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of Dallas.
