Preservation Dallas Fall 2021 Cemetery Tour
DCPA membership is cordially welcomed to join Preservation Dallas on its Fall 2021 Cemetery Tour on October 30, 2021.

We’ve been invited to be a co-sponsor of the event. As the notice states, “The day will begin at the Hillcrest Mausoleum (1937, Anton Korn) with check in and a discussion highlighting cemetery history, evolution and the built environment. Moderated by Dallas Municipal Archivist John Slate, the symposium panel includes Sparkman/Hillcrest Vice President Teresa Schnur, Dallas Genealogical Society Past President Tony Hanson as well as Versar Cultural Resources Lead Michelle Wurtz. This entire day will be filled with beautiful structures and stories, and the great outdoors, and you do not want to miss it! Check in for the tour begins at 8:30 a.m. The symposium begins at 9 a.m., and cemeteries are open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees are REQUIRED to check in at Hillcrest Mausoleum. Face masks are required for the symposium at Hillcrest Mausoleum.
The tour includes the symposium and tour at Hillcrest Mausoleum as well as the seven cemetery stops below. Tickets are $30 for Preservation Dallas members and $40 for the public. Reservations are required and non refundable.”
Cemeteries will include Freedman’s Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, McCree Cemetery, Oak Cliff Cemetery, Oakland Cemetery, Temple Emanu-El Cemetery and Western Heights Cemetery.
