Our Story
Established in 1875, the Dallas County Pioneer Association is the oldest historical organization in Dallas County. Formed by the original settlers and founding families of the area, the Association arose from concerns that their role in shaping Dallas might be forgotten as waves of newcomers arrived. A small gathering at the courthouse resolved to preserve their frontier experiences, honor the men and women who built the community, and ensure their stories were passed to future generations.
From those earliest settlers grew a lasting institution dedicated to promoting historical education and research, recognizing trailblazers, and preserving Dallas County’s historic records. We invite you to join us in keeping Dallas history alive.
